Now, to get started you may want to try three days of cardio and two days of weight training, alternating days. This regular personal fitness regimen with get your body in shape the way it's supposed to be year-round. Always remember, being in great shape is NOT just a summer thing.

Eating right is imperative. You need a balance of good carbs, proteins and vitamins. Typically you can consume as many vegetables as you please. We need like 8 a day, so go for it. As far as proteins go, try lean poultry and fish. Then with good carbs, shoot for brown rice, whole grain breads and low-fat granola. With personal fitness so much relies on your diet. Without a nutritious one, you're doomed.

Body Solid EXM1500S Home Gym

The Body Solid EXM1500S single stack home gym is easy to use and very sturdy. My wife's friend, a physical therapist, inspected this home gym and was quite pleased. She showed us the many different types of strengthening exercises that you can do with this home gym that are not included in the chart. The entire family is getting toned and fit. It took about three to four hours to put it together. I think it is a great product, well worth the money and required assembly time.

To be a little more specific of what I like about this gym: the geometry, the angles, seat height adjustments, handles, leg cushions, pulleys, and overall build all add up to something that feels like a lot of thought was put into it. There are some machines that frustrate you when you don't get the full extension. Nothing is more frustrating to me than getting on a home gym, especially a lat machine where you don't get to reach all the way. This machine, even when benching, will allow for full extensions. Additionally, you don't waste time transitioning between exercises. The only pause in exercise you really need is the few seconds it takes to lean over and change the weight amount.

Exercises:
Leg Exercises - Leg lift for Quads is great. The standing one legged hamstring curl took a bit to get used, to but given the small size of the machine, it is worthwhile putting the time in.
Bench Press - Very smooth, and you get two hand positions, one for more inner pec and the other for more outer.
Lats/Back - This is where I believe this machine earns it keep. It provides a Lat pull down, and a seated row position. This was key to me and it performs as expected. (note I'm using this for toning and not body building. A 160 pound stack works for me.)
Shoulders/Arms - The curl bar thats included does have a static handle, so it is not too good for curls. You may need to purchase a bar that has rotating handles. Since I use dumbbells for these exercises, it did not matter too much. I am ordering a single rotating curl bar, so that my wife can add some exercises.

The Body Solid EXM1500S single stack home gym is a very study machine, and great for a home gym, with it's small footprint. I would recommend it to others looking for a smaller home gym with a fair price for the quality. Every motion is smooth and quiet. Very compact and the lifetime warranty is reassuring. Overall, I would say it is great value for someone who wants a smaller in home machine to cover a lot of exercises, and wants to add strength training to their workout.
